FranchiseRight provides advice, representation, and support to individuals and companies looking to purchase a franchise. Your FranchiseRight Certified Advisor can give you expert direction and guidance throughout the research, evaluation, selection, due-diligence, negotiation, financing, and pre-opening phases of franchising. If you decide to purchase a franchised business, we want you to achieve success more rapidly and exit profitably in a reasonable timeframe while you enjoy a business ideally suited to your preferences, management style, lifestyle, and financial goals.

FranchiseRight System. Our educational and training programs together with the specifications in the FranchiseRight System provide the detailed guidance that prospective franchisees need to better control the selection, qualification, and negotiation process; equipping them with information and materials needed to make a more informed purchase decision. While your FranchiseRight Certified Advisor provides business advice (not legal advice), you’ll also need other qualified outsourced service providers including an attorney that specializes in franchising to review the Franchise Agreement and the Uniform Franchise Disclosure Document (UFDD). Through the FranchiseRight Network we provide access to many pre-qualified franchise professionals who not only subscribe to our proprietary methodology, but also conform to a strict “Code-of-Conduct” and agree to provide client deliverables on specification, within budget, and in a timely, professional manner at preferred rates.

Process. FranchiseRight has a fee-based 6-step Franchise Purchasing process following our comprehensive education program (Step 0) that includes a 90-minute seminar, ½-day workshop, and 4-day Boot Camp at the FranchiseRight Institute. Boot Camp is specifically designed to provide you with the knowledge, tools, and guidelines to research, select, purchase, and operate a franchised business with complete confidence.

Difference. We use a “Buyers Side Approach”, so unlike any other “franchise consultant” we work for you not the franchisor! We do not get paid by the franchisor or receive a commission from the franchisor. We work for you on a fee-for-service basis so you get valuable, un-biased advice and expert guidance from experienced industry professionals. We are here to assist you in selecting a franchise that will meet your expectations and fit your personal lifestyle and financial goals. We can work in successive stages of the process or stay with you every step of the way. While we can introduce you to quality franchisors participating in our independent Certification Program who operate their systems at the highest industry standards using “best business practices” we do not represent franchisors or “sell” any franchises. We are not a “franchise directory” geared to generate leads. We help you decide what’s in your best interest.

Qualifications. We know Franchising! After all, we operate a development network for industry professionals and suppliers; and we launched the world’s first Franchise Institute and Incubator. We assist entrepreneurs to develop “best-of-class” franchise systems that are “certified” to serve their franchisees and their communities.

6-step Process

0. Educate.  You will get orientation and education about how to select and purchase a quality franchised business.

1. Assess. We guide you through a 3-part selection and assessment process:

  • Profile. Your “Franchisee Profile” will help determine which sector best fits your needs based on personality, preferences, skill-set, lifestyle, and finances.
  • Research. We provide the basic market research (sector performance, trends, competitors, and franchisor benchmark).
  • Identification. Use our guidelines to conduct your search to identify which specific franchise companies interest you.

2. Select. The decision is yours! We represent you not the franchisor. We guide you through the selection process:

  • Contact. We contact the franchisors for more specific information. You get the information and literature to review without dealing with the salespeople!
  • Interview. We interview prospective franchisors (and their franchisees) to assist you in the selection process. We make sure that you pre-qualify before we help you complete application(s).
  • Analyze. We will review and explain (i) the franchisor’s Uniform Franchise Disclosure Document, (ii.) the franchise agreement (to determine if key provisions are reasonable), and (iii.) system requirements (controls, support, programs, training, etc.).

3. Negotiate. After your attorney reviews the legal documents, we negotiate the franchise purchase with you.

4. Plan. We will prepare your business plan and investment/loan presentation materials.

5. Finance. We will connect you with equity investors and preferred lenders. We prepare and submit your loan application.

6. Pre-Opening.  We make sure that the franchisor provides you with all pre-opening support (i.e., training, site selection, build-out, set-up, hiring, marketing, etc.).
